The boy’s pants work perfectly for petite girls as they run shorter than the matching men’s sweatpants. For the sweatpants, I purchased the matching color Hanes sweatpants in a size boy’s XL (16/18). I believe the sizing runs small, especially after inevitable shrinking in the wash, so keep that in mind if you decide to go with this brand. I normally am a small to medium in women’s sizing, so I purchased a men’s small as I wanted an oversized fit, and honestly I could have went up a size to medium for an even comfier fit. I chose to purchase this Hanes sweatshirt in the color navy. Step 1) Purchase your “blank canvas” aka a plain sweatshirt and pair of sweatpants, bleach + rubberbands. This simple 6-7 step process is so easy that even I, the worst of DIYers, could do it successfully. I decided to hop on the bandwagon and try this DIY project for a cheaper option while curing my boredom for a little while, and surprisingly it turned out AMAZING. I had been eyeing a few sweatsuit sets before quarantine (like this Wild Fable one that unfortunately sold out before I had the chance to grab it), but most cost over $45 for the sweatshirt and sweatpants which are sold separately. Have you even experienced quarantine thus far if you haven’t started doing DIY projects, especially the trending DIY bleached tie-dye sweatsuit? This trend which I believe originated from TikTok (another quarantine pastime) has taken over the internet and has became the official outfit of quarantine.
